Day 1:Arrival in Yerevan – Transfer - City tour 

Arrival in Yerevan, transfer to the selected hotel . Rest time 2 hours. City tour- Yerevan sightseeing, including City center, Republic square, State University, City panorama, Mother Armenia Monument, Parliament, President’s Palace, Opera.Visit to Megerian Carpet factory. The Megerian Carpet Factory  in Yerevan has a spectacular showroom where visitors  can make their purchases. Visitors and guests are welcome to watch the production of the Armenian rugs.  Visit to Matenadaran -depository for ancient manuscripts, the collection of which is one of the biggest in the world.  In the evening walk in Cascade complex, which is considered the modern art center of Yerevan and the  home of Cafesjan modern art museum. The boulevard and up the stairs, from top of which you can enjoy the panoramic view on the city and Mountain Ararat. Overnight in Yerevan.

 

Day 2:Areni wine factory – Jermuk – Tatever Ropeway- Tatev Monastery –Harsnadzor

After breakfast at the hotel drive to Areni village  - the location, where archaeologists found the earliest known wine press for stomping grapes, fermentation and storage vessels, drinking cups, 5500-year-old leather shoe. Tour to “Areni” Winery/ wine testing. On the way visit local winery in Areni village - wine testing. Areni used to be one of the centers of wine production in Armenia. After wine tasting in the Areni wine factory continuing the tour to the resort-town Jermuk . The Resort Jermuk is located in the south-eastern part of Armenia, on the height of 2100 meters above sea level. The air in Jermuk  is  absolutely clean, it is deprived of dust and is sated with aroma of flowers.     Drive to the southern part of Armenia -  Tatev Moanstery .  You will  visit  to the Monastery   with  the  areal tramway  Wings of Tatev  and  enjoying  spectacular view of the scenery around, passing Devil’s bridge. The tramway is the natural and historic treasures of Syunik and the longest ropeway in the world (5,7 km), recorded in Guinnes record book, over the canyons to the Monastery of Tatev and back.   Tatev Monastery is a 9th century historical monument. It is one of the oldest and most famous monastery complexes in Armenia.  Overnight in Harsnadzor.

Day 3 :Carahunge - Shaki waterfall- Khor Virap – Yerevan

Breakfast  at  open air Tavern “Harsnadzor”, then drive back to Yerevan. On the way visit to Zorats Karer. Zorats Karer or Carahunge is proved to be one of the oldest, 7500 years old observatories in the world. Currently it stands as precisely arranges stones in the field with the holes that were used for astrological observations. Carahunge has been named by tourists  “the Armenian Stonehendge”. Then visit to the Shaki Waterfall above Lake Shaki. Height – 18m. Origin of the name Shaki according to the legend comes from beautiful same-named girl Shaki. Continuing  tour to Ararat valley Khor Virap - a place of pilgrimage for Armenians all over the world. According to history annals, Armenian pagan king Trdat imprisoned Saint Gregory the Illuminator in a cave which became known as Khor Virap (Deep Hole). Here you can see the closest and most spectacular view of the gorgeous biblical mountain Ararat (where Noah's ark has landed according to Bible) shining with its two white  peaks . Overnight in Yerevan .

Day 4:Vernissage – Garni  Pagan Temple – Gaghard  Cave Monastery-Sevan-Yerevan

 Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Vernissage handicraft market - an open-air market, where you can find unique examples of art and craft work, jewellery, old collections of coins and medallions, etc… Drive to the pagan temple in Armenia devoted to the God of Sun – Myrth in Garni. Photo stop at Charentc Arc. The temple was a summer residence for Arshakid dynasty.  Drive to the unique medieval monastery Geghard  12-13 th cc. Being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. St. Geghard means “holy spear” in the honor of the long-preserved spear, the same spear that pierced the body of crucified Christ. Drive to Sevan, one of the greatest high mountainous freshwater lakes of Eurasia, climb on the peninsula from where the fascinating view on the Lake is opened. Visit Sevanavank monastery, which stands in its greatness on the peninsula overlooking the lake for centuries.Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight in Yerevan.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Day 5: Transfer to the Zvartnots International Airport .Departure
